Yes, I know. I know that I've been slacking with my blog but there's nothing that I could really do about it. The last few weeks here have been totally insane. Four hurricanes and several Jewish holidays have messed up our class schedule and as a result I've been slammed with work and left without much free time. Luckily Jeanne isn't going to affect my schedule so things should start settling down....
Anyway, Jeanne has pretty much come and gone. It's still pretty windy here but all the businesses are open today and people are out and about. Some friends and I went to Hooligan's (sports bar) earlier this afternoon and the first person that I saw as I walked into the door was OJ Simpson (yes that OJ). He was just sitting at a table with a group of friends, watching the Eagles-Lions game and drinking some beer. Apparently he goes to Hooligans every Sunday to watch football. It felt weird seeing a guy whose murder trial I watched on TV. It was hard to believe that the person sitting two tables away from me was a brutal double murderer, as well as one of the best running backs in NFL history. But this is Miami, so I better get used to seeing both the famous and the infamous. Either way, it was pretty cool seeing OJ. Next Sunday I think that I'm asking for a picture or an autograph. Speaking of star athletes, we saw Antrelle Rolle in Coconut Grove on Friday night. For those of you that don't know who he is, he's the Hurricane's best player and brother of Tennessee Titan's cornerback, Samari Rolle.
The Hurricanes aren't the only football team at UM though. Our flag football team, Ludlum Point, is 3-0 and ranked #3 out of over 50 teams in the men's division. Our last game was a nail biter and we scored a touchdown on the last play of the game to win. We have another game tomorrow night and hopefully it'll be a Ludlum Point/Redskins sweep on Monday night.
Well there's more that I could write but I want to get back to the Colts-Packers game. Hopefully Ian's found a place in Spain to watch football in Spain; I would hate for him to miss Favre and the Pack getting rocked in Indy....
Yeah, I just sent an email to Ian where I boasted that even I could throw touchdown passes against the Packers' secondary...
