Law school has ostensibly started to affect my behavior. Last night a bunch of my friends went out drinking to Sunset Tavern, since it was Thirsty Thursday and all. So of course I went out, got drunk, didn't do my work, and skipped class today, right? Wrong. To my chagrin I actually stayed in last night and did my Civ Pro, Civil Procedure for all you laypeople, reading. Passing up a night of debauchery is not in my nature, so I'm slightly perturbed by my decision to stay home and study. I feel like I'm turning into one of those people that do ALL of their work, carry all their books in suitcases-on-wheels, and get to class 20 minutes early, cuz lets face it, they have nothing better to do with their time...So there is only one solution, a Frickesque night of boozing on Saturday and a Sunday spent half passed put on the couch, eating delivered food, and watching football a la Fred Vegas...Sounds like a good plan, right? Well, it would be, except for the fact that I have a seven page memo due on Monday so it looks like to be a fun-filled weekend spent in the library, a place I truly despise, looking up cases dealing with libel, slander, and defamation. Anyone wanna trade places???
I feel your pain, I had a paper due like that last week and its been over 2 weeks since I last went out on a weeknight. On sundays I feel guilty watching a Skins game because I know I should be doing work, and its only gonna get busier as finals are approaching (only in law school do you say finals are near when they are still 2 months off). Its friday afternoon after classes and instead of immediately drinking, I came to the library to do some work. Makes you really wonder why you went to law school doesnt it.
